Everybody always has one fashion trend that they admire, but are afraid to try, for me, it is flatform shoes. I love how they look on other people, but I just feel like a dinosaur when I wear them. For a long time, I refused to try the neon trend, but after being forced to wear neon for a dance performance, I found that I actually loved how the shades looked against my skin tone, as well as the various skin tones of all my friends. When I saw today’s Fashionista, I fell in love with her neon pink shorts and how she styled them to create a simple, but fun summer look.
Today’s Fashionista paired her neon pink chino shorts with a navy high-neck tank top that had neon pink and orange embroidery (here is a similar one). I loved that the added embroidery detail tied in the pink neon color throughout the whole look. To finish off the look she wore a gold watch and gold Jack Rogers sandals. She also had the added detail of navy nail polish that matched the color palette of the entire look.
Today’s Fashionista wore neon in the right way. She didn’t overdo it and paired the bright color with a darker contrasting color that was still neutral. Her accessories were kept to a minimum, and the choice of pairing the neon pink with gold metallic details screamed summer. You should not be afraid of neon colors, I know I’m kicking myself for wasting precious summertime without trying this trend.
