Black, brown, white and their variations are colors many consider neutral colors- colors that go with anything and everything. While black will always be the new black, the neutral spectrum is expanding its former boundaries of black, brown and white. As I look around campus at my fellow Fashionista/os, I see a lot of navy, army green and deep reds. Fashionistas/os have a way of using these colors as a base and then having fun with pattern and pops of color to enhance their look. Some of the coolest color combinations I have seen and tried myself are army green and orange, maroon and pale pink, and navy with lighter, brighter blues. I found a Fashionisto who sported a couple of these combos with craft.
Stripes are a timeless pattern and one that can be worn in different colors and directions. The wide navy and white stripes worn by this Fashionisto look smart and the simplicity of the top is clean and classic. I, being a huge fan of details, noticed the buttons running along the shoulder at the top of the shirt, which add a subtle touch of character and quirk. Army green pants are a must-have for Fashionistos everywhere, as they stray from denim and khaki but look more stylish and versatile. Feel free to jump even farther out than green; how about pink pants? Having fun with styling is super important to this Fashionisto!
No one can go wrong with a pair of classic Ray-Ban Clubmasters, which no doubt add a vintage vibe. While watches are worn by all, there is something about a watch that completes a man’s look. The combination of green and orange on the Fashionistos wrist caught my eye, and absolutely added a playful touch to the outfit. As the weather gets warmer, we begin to search for a pair of kicks that will replace our duck boots with something lighter and thinner—espadrilles can do the trick! The prill slip-ons worn by this Fashionisto are a fresh addition among a campus full of tennis shoes and the dreaded socks and athletic slides. Stepping into a style all your own includes an eye for many things. but most of all. FUN!
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “For me, what I wear is usually a collection of things from different trips and events, never bought for one event alone. Just like in the home, what you have and wear should have meaning, whether given to you as a gift for a special event or bought on a trip you’ll never forget. Figuring out how to assemble these things is the fun part, and you’ll always have a simple story behind each piece.”
