I blinked, and it’s February! My New Year resolution of waking up early to go to the gym and get to my class on time is long gone. A nine minute snooze turns into a 27 minute snooze, which turns into 10 minutes until class starts. Staying warm while wearing clothes that match in the morning is a challenge in itself. So how is one supposed to get ready in minutes while still looking put together?
Kim K. has solid, two-piece bodycon dresses, Diane von Furstenberg has dresses, Jessica Alba has medium wash skinny jeans and Natalie Massenet has dark, knee-length skirts. A long, wool Burberry Brit coat and tall boots have pretty much been my uniform as of lately because you can’t ever be warm in the wind tunnel of the science mall. All Fashionistas have reliable go-to outfits, but Style Gurus live for them.
Check out this week’s Fashionista for a trendy way to stay stylish and warm in the morning. A soft cream shirt keeps a mixable color in the outfit without being overwhelming, while the lightweight gray field jacket is warm with enough pockets to keep gloves handy. Her dark wash jeggings pair well with her socks and trendy duck boots. She finishes her early morning outfit with a pretty but practical plaid blanket scarf and a chunky bracelet to match the neutral palette.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I love outfits that are versatile and can work whether I have to call an impromptu sorority meeting or have a long day of student teaching.”
