I am a firm believer that college is the perfect time for finding your true self. Whether that be in fashion, your major or hobbies, it is a period of time when you can fully immerse yourself in your passions. I have learned that college can be some of the hardest years of our lives because we are faced with decisions we have to make on our own on a daily basis. We face problems we have never had to face before without our parents there guiding us. Ultimately, it is up to us to discover what fills us to the brim with happiness and what does not.
My style advice of the week is to wear whatever makes your inner self joyful. It is completely normal to be worried about how other people may judge you, but my advice is to let them. People are always going to criticize what they cannot understand. It is not in your best interest to be worried about what other people do not like about you or your style. Fashion trends are always going to come and go, which is why there is no point in being crazily obsessed over what the current trend is. Your style is uniquely yours and it is a part of your identity.
At the end of the day, what you put on your body should be something you feel completely confident in. Everyone deserves to feel confident and everyone deserves to feel no shame in wearing whatever they want. This month, I advise you to express your style freely and unapologetically.
