So often I see articles, blog photos and photo essays about “off duty” style. Whether it’s models after runway shows, fashion editors around town or celebrities in airports, off-duty style has certainly caught on. The casual yet chic style is not so much a runway trend, but a lifestyle trend that I’m sure everyone has exercised. For example, instead of reaching for a button-down shirt and a pair of paneled leggings, opting for a pretty sweater and comfortable jeans on a chill day. Thankfully, instead of having to scour the Internet for extra off-duty inspiration, I pulled aside this lovely Fashionista one afternoon.
When I spotted this Fashionista walking from the Hill to Hodges library, I immediately appreciated her cool and casual outfit. Her Victoria’s Secret Pink sweater was effortlessly paired with her basic dark-wash denim jeans. The sweater, instead of being treated like a last-minute thought, acted as a showcase piece in her ensemble. It also paired perfectly with her diverse mix of accessories, including her gold Michael Kors watch, gray sneakers and leather messenger bag.
This Fashionista epitomizes chic off-duty style. The combination of a comfortable sweater, dark-wash skinny jeans and cool accessories worked perfectly together, and gave this Fashionista confidence and poise even on a chill Friday afternoon. I absolutely adored her ability to look both fashionable and comfortable when we all know that those two things are hardly paired together in the fashion industry. Ultimately though, beyond trends and off-duty style, she stressed that everyone is unique and should capitalize on that. I couldn’t agree with her more!
