If you are currently reading this, my guess is that you are a fashion enthusiast, and as such, you aim to create eye-catching outfits from day to day. One way to create an eye-catching outfit is by making sure to wear a statement piece. The tricky part is making sure you don’t go overboard with the way in which you style said piece. This week’s Fashionista helps us see how simple it can be to keep an outfit centered and put together without taking attention away from the focus item.
I spotted this Fashionista while she was sightseeing with friends and was immediately drawn into her look by her floral pants. These pants are a great piece for summer because, as we all know, florals for these warm, sunny days are never inappropriate. What made this Fashionista’s pants stand out were the pieces she decided to wear in order to complement them.
By sticking to a monochromatic color scheme for the rest of her look (i.e. white and gray), this look is able to keep the focus on the florals. Her graphic T-shirt is not a detriment to the main focus of the florals due to the simple design that only uses white and black, and helps add to the femininity of her outfit. Although this Fashionista’s white sandals have some green and yellow detail, the color complements the florals and is minimal.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Keep focus on one item so that your outfit does not look hectic. My pants are floral so I did not use a lot of color anywhere else and mostly stuck to white.”
