Hello my fellow fashion people. It’s me, Chastity, writing to you from 1995. Okay, it’s 2015, but this look totally brings us back to the ’90’s, right? I’m sure everyone knows this, but incase you don’t: ’90’s fashion is back and better than ever.
This Fashionista brings us back to our Spice Girls days while also adding touches of her own personal style. The thing that really sticks out to me about these overalls is that they are made out of an eyelet material, which brings down the grunge factor they would otherwise have. If they aren’t styled ideally, overalls can make you look like you’re wearing a costume; but when made out of a more feminine material, they allow you to pull them off with ease (not to mention the fact that this material is way more appropriate for the Florida heat than thick denim would be). To make the overalls the star of this look, the Fashionista went with some minimal black shoes and sunnies and kept her accessories very simple and girly. The headband and bracelets further bring in that feminine vibe and make this outfit effortless. I think any self-proclaimed boho queen would definitely approve of these threads.
I have been seeing “shortalls” like these all over my Pinterest and Instagram, and I would say they are the new summer piece to rock. At first, I was hesitant to try this trend out, but after seeing this Fashionista’s boho twist, I am sold.
What’s your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I would say just rock it out and dress how you feel! Whenever I dress a little more edgy, I’ll put a braid or add a headband to my hair. If I’m going to study at a coffee shop, I’ll wear jeans and a V-neck and do a little more to my hair for balance. Don’t be afraid to try a new look, because you are your biggest critic!”
