After the Pantone Color Institute released its fashion color report for spring, I’ve been on the hunt for how people incorporate these colors into their day-to-day style. This Fashionista brought out two colors from the report, including strawberry ice and glacier gray.
I love how this color combination works perfectly together in this Fashionista’s dress. Soft pinks and subtle neutrals in gray and black create a chic look. This Fashionista’s dress is versatile for winter because the colors are versatile to pair with different jackets, tights, cardigans and boots. Having versatile pieces are important in one’s wardrobe, especially if they include statement colors like the ones from the Pantone Color Institute.
This Fashionista’s look also resembles the color palette in Oscar de la Renta’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. “The collection hit all of Oscar’s signature marks: feminine, unfailingly polished, lush with color. Less conventional, perhaps, was its youthful spirit,” said reviewer Nicole Phelps. I think this Fashionista channeled her inner Oscar de la Renta by adding some similar feminine and polished concepts to her look. With a leather jacket, versatile dress and a pair of ankle boots, you’ll channel your inner Oscar de la Renta, too.
What’s your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK?: “Don’t be afraid to get dressed up on an average day. I think there’s this idea that college students should wear sweats every day. But, that isn’t the case. Some students enjoy the idea of dressing up. And what’s not to love? You’ll feel good about yourself, and you will definitely attract attention.”
