We all love neutral colors, because they are always in season. Also, it’s so easy to combine pieces together with them and create a polished, complete look. Now in the winter, the chilly weather calls for cozy sweaters and soft knits, beiges and grays seem to be the easy option. However, I challenge all Fashionistas/os to be bold this week. Why not add a little surprise with a bold blue or dramatic red? Wear a pop of color, and wear it with confidence.
When thinking of this trend, there are so many fun ways a Fashionista can try it. The pop of color can be in a top, skirt or shoes. For example, a bright heel or bag with a LBD looks awesome. A little color is a great way to make the eye go to something that is really special. If you are nervous to try the the trend at first, opt for something small like a belt or pair of shoes. If you like the addition of a fun color, take it to the next level by wearing a more central piece in the outfit.
When picking a color, it’s a good idea to use one that is current in the season. Personally, I love a bright cobalt. However, red has been very popular this season as you can notice from this Fashionista. She pulled off the hue in a big way! She kept everything else black with her knee-high boots, which have been everywhere this winter, leggings and sunglasses. The hints of red in the patterned scarf are the perfect complement to the jacket. Against the all black, the lipstick red looks great and dramatic. Another lovely part about this style trend is it carries over into day and night. A pop of color is perfectly appropriate at school, work or a night out with friends.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Whatever color you decide to wear, wear it with confidence. You don’t want the color to wear you, so make sure you are comfortable with what you are wearing, and your personal style with come through.”
