Happy fall Fashionistas/os! I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving with lots of mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie, but as the food comas set in, winter is officially upon us. This is the time of year that college students temporarily dread because of insane amounts of work, but before we know it, the holidays are here again. I find on campus that the neutral brown fall colors in everyone’s wardrobe gradually fades to black in the winter. Blacks and grays are never gloomy when paired with a pop of color or a statement print, and this Fashionista shows us how to do both.
Transitioning from our browns and deep reds to blacks, grays and blues let’s remember to add this pop of color or print to make the outfit a bit more fun. This Fashionista is sporting black jeans, a black leather jacket, a long blue button down and snake skin printed booties. She also dresses up this look with a statement necklace.
First of all, the black jeans with a small hole in the knee are a staple of the season, because they go with absolutely everything. Printed ankle booties are also a must-have this winter as they make any outfit look festive and the heel is also very short so they’re comfortable, but can be dressed up. The simple pop of color and pattern this Fashionista adds, turns a plain black outfit into something fun. Her long black to gray ombre braids tie together this look amazingly, complimenting all of the colors in the outfit. The gold accessory clasps on her braids also match perfectly with the gold statement necklace.
All in all, my Style Advice of the Week is to not be afraid to add color and print to your black winter outfits!
