With Easter just behind us, the traditional colors of spring are coming back in full force. What are they? Why, any color in its prettiest and lightest shade. This spring, the classic pastels are back in lavenders, baby blues and soft pinks. You can find them in dresses, skirts, shirts and accessories this season!
With the weather being a mix of cold and rainy days with the occasional bright spot, we have to get creative with mixing in our pastels. In a sea of black and olive green coats, this Fashionista pulled out her parka in a beautiful lilac hue to spread some springtime joy on a dreary day. As the focus is on the parka, the rest of the outfit is there to support it. Any bright colors mixed in with the pastel would overwhelm the Fashionista and cause a lot of visual conflict. This Fashionista’s pairs white and black to create the perfect balance of color.
The large black tote adds a level of style to the parka that differentiates it from any plain one. Instead of being completely utilitarian, the coat is now part of the outfit. Her choice to wear a textured sweater signals a relaxed and chic look. I loved her white Converse because they integrated a little bit of the athletic trend into her outfit.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I would say to dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable with your body and yourself. Specifically for this winter and spring, I like to wear cozy clothes like knit sweaters and leggings!”
