With DePaul University located just right outside of the bustling city of Chicago, our students are always dressed to be on the go. On any day, I’ll go straight from class in the Lincoln Park neighborhood to work downtown or run errands for the day. Dressed to fit this constant and active pace is what immediately drew me to this Fashionista’s outfit.
Since we are constantly surrounded by the rapidly moving city, it’s important to maintain classic and versatile pieces. You never know what you might be doing next, so it’s helpful to be ready for any occasion. This Fashionista was able to perfectly achieve that. Her outfit mostly consists of staple pieces: a dressy, silk tank top, nude flats and a black shoulder bag. She also adds a few pops of minimal rings that can fit with just about any outfit. However, I feel that it’s important to add a little flair of your own personal style with each outfit. This Fashionista does so by topping off the look with her tribal printed shorts. These flowy shorts are the perfect accent that add a pop of interest, while still allowing her to rush about her day.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “The most important factor of an outfit, for me, is comfortability. I’m always going from one thing to the next, so it’s critical that my outfit can accompany me throughout the day. However, I don’t think you have to sacrifice style for comfort, it’s so easy to combine the best of both worlds!”
