Trends can be taken into any direction no matter what season we are in. Fashion is always changing and recreating itself throughout the times. Some of the biggest trends this summer include ruffles, chokers, off-the-shoulder tops and dresses, blue denim and slider sandals. While fashion has transitioned over time from the modern day house wife to casual urban looks, more and more people are stepping out of their comfort zone and trying new things.
Today in fashion, many trendsetters and even bloggers are taking more risks with their outfits on the streets. One way to do this is by mixing casual and comfort with elegant pieces that stand out. An example of this might be your favorite girlfriend jeans with a silk camisole top. Being in a blazer and suit all day is not considered fashion forward anymore. Now, it’s all about comfort yet still looking fashionable. Sometimes this can be difficult however my Fashionista said that the key to doing this right is to feel comfortable in what your wearing and remember that it’s only clothes!
At this moment, one of the hottest staple pieces to have in your closet, regardless of the season, is a bomber jacket. Initially considered a more masculine piece, it has now transitioned itself to the feminine side of fashion. Bomber jackets can give edge to a casual look at the office or be transitioned to the night life with a lace embroidered dress. My Fashionista decided that her bomber jacket should stand out. Instead of getting a simple bomber from retailers like Zara, she decided that a metallic bomber jacket would set the tone for any outfit she decided to wear. What I liked most about her outfit was that she wasn’t afraid to trade in her flats for her cool Vans with this look.
My Fashionista is rocking a leather romper with lace embroidery, a metallic bomber jacket and a pair of black and white high-top Vans. To add more edge to her look, she kept her jewelry simple, yet bold with a thin gold choker and round sunglasses with gold edges. Her street style and feminine look is something that anyone can imitate and recreate.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Stay true to yourself and be comfortable and confident in what you are wearing. If you’re not into the whole ‘urban’ aspect of the look switch the vans for boots or lace-up flats.”
