As the winter season quickly approaches, we’ll soon be breaking out our heavy coats to shield ourselves from the dropping temperatures. While the weather may be drab, it doesn’t mean what we wear has to be. As we trade in our flip flops for a pair of boots, we can also add other elements to our look to help combat the cold weather elements; one of these elements are scarves.
Scarves have a dual purpose; the first is to keep its’ wearer warm and the second is to add something extra to one’s look. One of the nice things about scarves is that you can wear it while you’re walking to class, at an internship or studying in the library. Scarves are like the cherry on top of the outfit. You can purchase them in a variety of textures, colors and patterns.
This Fashionista’s scarf caught my eye. It looked warm and cozy, complementing the rest of her outfit and bringing her whole look together. Dressed for a crisp, fall day, she’s wearing a basic gray shirt under a leather jacket. She’s also wearing a pair of dark wash skinny jeans and black leather Dr. Martens, which add an edgier look to the outfit. Her black scarf definitely adds a bit of edge to the outfit. For a finishing touch, she adds some of her favorite jewelry, which includes some silver rings, and a pair of dangling earrings.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Always have fun with your outfits, even the smallest details of it. Scarves are my favorite accessories, because they are warm and versatile, but they come in so many colors, patterns and fabrics. They’re never boring.”
