Summer is officially here! This means that it’s time for walks along the beach, boat rides and sunbathing. This Fashionista’s outfit has me dreaming of sand and sea. It’s a preppy nautical ensemble that looks like it came straight off a boardwalk in the Hamptons.
This outfit has many standout, trendy pieces, but they all work well together. One of the main pieces of this outfit is the top. The slightly cropped bottom and high neckline is a classic, preppy cut, but what makes the top fresh is the blue and white China pattern. A similar pattern can be spotted on Zoë Saldana’s dress on the cover of the July issue of InStyle. The pattern appears to be coming up elsewhere as a major trend. It reminds me of the crystal clear blue waters and white hillside buildings of the Greek islands. The top, paired with white jeans, sets up an already beautiful base for trendy accessories to be added to.
Another important part of this outfit is the camel colored floppy hat. These wide-brim beauties are popping up in many of my favorite stores this season. They’re functional for protecting your face from the sun, but they also add chic glamor to any summer look. This Fashionista also adds nautical flair to her look with rope wedges and gold earrings that have a seaweed motif. The pale pink tote adds a slight variation of color and fits perfectly with the overall clean, put together vibe of the outfit. Topping off the look with round sunglasses, this Fashionista is ready to make the boardwalk her catwalk.
