We’re halfway through summer and it doesn’t look like the high temperatures are going to let up any time soon. Texas reached triple digits in the last week, so we’re all trying to find ways to beat the heat. This means choosing functionality over style for a lot of desperate Fashionistas and Fashionistos out there. This Fashionista, however, has found a way to create a simple look that makes her look way fresh and looking as stylish as ever.
I feel that it’s best to reap the benefits of a monochromatic outfit. They usually look sleeker than other coordinates because of their modern look. Having a few versatile outfits like this one that can transition from day to night is ideal because, if you’re anything like me, the hot Texas sun makes it nearly impossible to move, let alone perform an outfit change when dinner plans come up. I know, I know, black isn’t really a great color to wear when having some fun in the sun. However, it helps when you’re wearing both shorts and a sleeveless top to alleviate some of that. And anyway, black hides the side effects of a blazing sun.
This Fashionista’s outfit is super simple but does the job when it comes to comfort and style. A black top like hers is a great choice because it’s breathable and comfortable with its halter top look. Her high-waisted shorts are basically a staple in any modern girls’ wardrobe because they’re so easy to style and to dress up or down. This Fashionista’s platform sandals pretty much make the outfit because she could have easily chosen a pair of chucks, but this detail makes her look a bit more put together. Of course, her Coach cross-body is perfect for summer because it’s out of the way and totally cute.
