It’s that time of year again…when we are all forcibly walking across campus in 90 degree weather sweating non-stop. Apparently we call it fall semester, yet right now there is no fall in sight, just an eternal summer up here in New Hampshire. So this week I am giving style advice for when a heat wave strikes and all we want is fall. We all know how hard it is to look good and feel comfortable at the same time so my advice to you in these sticky last few weeks is one simple thing: dresses. In this summer heat keeping your outfits simple is the best way to stay cool, but that doesn’t mean you can’t look great at the same time of course. Dresses are great to walk around campus in, keeping you cool and looking put together at the same time.
Today this outfit is rocked by a Fashionista who was able to pull off a summer dress in the simplest way possible by attaining a look that is exquisitely at ease. By pairing this indie floral summer dress with a simple pair of slip-on sandals adds a laid back yet fashionable look all at once. Adding the small satchel and the simple sandals allows the spotlight of this outfit to remain on the sunflower patterned dress. What makes this outfit stand out is the lace halter bralettte underneath the dress—it adds an accent of easy by also adding comfort. This dress is great for the transition period of entering summer and exiting it as well.
Although we do go to a school where there is usually one season only and it’s called snow; we do get hit with some pretty hot weather in the beginning and end of the year. When it comes to these rare heat waves my advice to you is keeping it simple but making it chic at the same time. Simplicity goes a long way. Keep cool, but mostly keep it cool.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Wear something cool and light; you will regret it if you don’t, trust me on this one.”
