Mother Nature has finally decided to be nice to the South—for now. As I type this, birds are chirping, the sun is out and it doesn’t feel like I need to stay in my bed at all costs today. For the past couple of weeks, the weather at the University of South Carolina has been absolutely insane. It will feel like summer one day and the Arctic tundra the next. Spring break has just ended (sigh) and I am hoping spring temperatures are here to stay. Needless to say, it’s been difficult trying to figure out what to wear when temperatures are dropping and rising so quickly.
This Fashionista has figured out exactly what to wear in this bipolar weather—a sweater and shorts. This ensemble says, “I’m excited that spring temperatures are here, but I don’t completely trust you Mother Nature.” I definitely have trust issues with this “lady.” I always find that when I think it’s going to be warm out, I’ll take a chance and not wear long sleeves only to find myself covered in goosebumps as soon as I leave the house. This Fashionista has done it right. Her sweater is perfect for these days when you can never tell what the weather will do. It’s also extremely chic and honestly, I’m not ready to give up sweater weather yet. Thus, the only option is a spring sweater. Like this Fashionista’s, a spring sweater should not be bulky, chunky or heavy. A lightweight long sleeved sweater is perfect for any ensemble during this season.
She completes her look with a pair of jean shorts, oversized sunglasses and brown booties. This ensemble is absolutely perfect for a spring day.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Sweaters are great for spring. Being prepared for a chilly day will always be a good thing. Look for a lightweight sweater that can be easily tied around your waist if the temperatures rise.”
