The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is coming to an end, but that does not mean we have stopped daydreaming about sugar plum fairies dancing in our heads or all of the magic that comes with this time of year. Even though the presents are unwrapped and the tree is no longer sitting stout, shopping for specific colors and styles is a definite must with mega end of season sales.
Reeling in the New Year, the top trends for fall/winter 2014 fashion showed a reccurring theme: purple and plum hues were a hit! Shopping for this color is a must and I love the way this Fashionista wore it wisely. She flaunted the pretty purple pigment with her classic tote and chevron sweater. Another great thing about this shade is it can be paired with all different colors. This Fashionista focused on tans and browns to make her plum pop, but the color looks great with other neutrals too such as gold, gray, black and white. You can see she used her jewelry to mix it up with a white and gold statement necklace, as well as a gold-plated watch. Try the same sweater in rich purple heather and pair it with a rad leather jacket to add some edge to this soft look. Also, if you want to spice up the outfit even more, add some colorful pumps like these to your ensemble.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “If you have a bunch of solid colored pieces you really love, it’s easy to mix and match them to create outfits you feel great about.”
