I don’t know about you all, but my summer in Oregon has been a hot one! Dressing for the weather is important, not only to look good, of course, but because you only wear sleeves in this kind of heat if you really like to sweat or you were forced to. Adjusting your style can sometimes be hard, but this Fashionista provides a great example of how to wear some of your favorite fall/winter pieces to the summer.
On hot days like today, it’s hard to feel cute and comfortable simultaneously. This Fashionista paired her tried and true American Apparel high-waisted denim shorts with a simple black and white striped cotton crop T-shirt for a simple and dependable look. Down low are socks with black lace peaking out of classic, black high-top Converse. The flannel tied around her waist adds some spice and complements the stripes on her crop top. Without the shirt, the look is plain and doesn’t offer too much variation but the flannel adds just enough to spunk it up, regarding it’s pattern and colors.
This outfit is perfect in the hot weather because nothing is too restricting or uncomfortable and the fabrics allow your body to breathe. It’s a summer take on trends that typically arrive in the fall, namely Converse and flannels. Don’t be afaid to pair flannels with more than just denim shorts, try it with a flowy dress or skirt even!
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “My style advice would be [that] flannels go with everything and comfortable is cute!”
