First thing’s first…happy New Year to all you fashion lovers out there! I’ve had a blast writing for CollegeFashionista this semester and am extremely excited to be back again in the spring. I thank you for reading my posts each week and hope you’ll stay tuned for next semester’s as well!
That being said, with a new year almost always comes a cold, bitter winter here in the Northeast. It’s the month when that dreaded snow and ice start to cover the ground. Unless you’re a fan of shoveling and occasionally slipping and falling, January isn’t always the most fun time out of the year. However, I personally think that winter is the perfect time to step up your fashion game.
This Fashionista gets it just right in her thick, extremely warm-looking waterfall cardigan. In the perfect shade of blue and covered in a cool print, it’s not like every other chunky knit pullover you’ll see this season.
She refuses to just stop at the sweater, though. She pairs it with some dark grey leggings and a few awesome accessories. I’m actually obsessed with these suede booties—the chunky, not-too-high heel makes walking a breeze. Her hat is very boho-chic, along with her long necklace and pretty gold leaf earrings.
This Fashionista literally got it right from head to toe. I love spotting students who not only can rock a great central piece, like this sweater, but also add some great accessories. When throwing on that cozy knit this January, choose to upgrade your look with some jewelry, a bag, a hairpiece…your options are limitless! Literally anything goes with a sweater, so step it up a notch and let your inner Fashionista shine!
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK?: “I like to be comfortable no matter what I’m wearing. I feel like when you’re comfortable, you don’t have to worry as much about your outfit and can walk around with a lot more confidence!”
