If you’re like me, you’ve found yourself—on more than one occasion—going through your mom’s old photographs and reminiscing at the trends way back when. I’ve even gone so far as “attic shopping” in hopes of resurrecting my favorite finds of the past. One style that has gotten lost in translation over the years is the infamous turtleneck. While some are opposed to the revival of this iconic piece, I’m a fan of the turtleneck and loved how this Fashionista rocked it!
Though turtlenecks have been “out of style” for some time now, signs show the trend has slowly been making its way back into Fashionistas/os’ homes. Cowl neck sweaters have been very popular these past few seasons and for good reason! The comfortable, stylish sweater is just a step down from the original turtleneck, making it a lot less intimidating. But now that it’s back, the turtleneck is in full force!
This Fashionista chose to pair her black turtleneck with a beige peacoat, jeggings, leg warmers and black boots. Her maroon pants complemented her winter-toned outfit perfectly, adding just the right amount of color. Between these pants and her black shoes, the Fashionista chose to keep her legs warm by wearing white textured legwarmers. On her feet, she sported black riding boots to guard her feet from the treacherous snow.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Go shopping in your mom’s closet! Seriously, you’d be surprised with the amount of great things you’d find. This turtleneck and these leg warmers were my mom’s and I’m so glad I didn’t go out and buy them myself. Everything seems to be coming back in style so you might as well get it from your own mother!”
