It is finally starting to get cold here at the University of Oregon and cold weather, for me at least, means flannel shirts all the time. But more and more lately, I’ve been seeing vests popping up everywhere. Vests are great because they allow you the coziness and warmth of a winter jacket, but the mobility of having no jacket at all. It may be the middle of fall, but it’s summer on the arms and winter on the body.
When I think of vests, I think of sitting in a ski lodge, sitting around a fire with friends and drinking hot chocolate. While college may not be quite as luxurious, that’s no reason to compromise style for comfort. It’s so easy to dress cute and still be comfortable. Vests are a great way to do it. With all different types of vests there is bound to be one that fits your personal style.
Fur vests have become increasingly popular among celebrities and civilians alike, but taking a page from this Fashionistas book might be a better idea for a day of classes. Her puffy vest is not only cozy beyond belief, but is also the perfect outfit to complement her flannel. This Fashionista shows how to take the comfiest items in any girls closet and make them look fashionable by throwing a vest over top.
