Black on black can sometimes look too black, yet when it’s done right it’s perfect; and this ladies and gentlemen, is exactly that, perfect! We all know the absence of color is not Vogue material or seen often on the catwalks, and though I tend not to disagree with Anna Wintour often, in the street style world, black on black is one RAD combination.
Fellow Husky Style Guru takes us back to the ’90s with this ensemble by keeping it simple with her monochromatic palette. Aside from the black, nude and white, she adds a little sparkle with her accessories. She is sporting a pair of black high-waisted jeans (a lá Calvin Klein), a simple (and completely necessary in every girls closet) black tank top, and cool kid white sneakers. All three of these pieces are key for year round outfits, make sure to stock up!
To keep it current, she wore a cute Longchamp backpack, perfect for school, an ear climber earring on one ear only to make it a little more personal and a beautiful statement ring. Her makeup, similar to her clothing, stays monochromatic but this time sticking to the lighter side of the color spectrum; the nudes. Her lips are a natural red tone, and her nail polish is a sand-like tone, blending in perfectly with her skin tone.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “You can never go wrong with all-black. Don’t be afraid to go monochromatic! I love it, I do it all the time. Also, I tend to step on my white sneakers before using them, otherwise they’ll look too white.”
