STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Time To ‘Slip' Into Something More Comfortable

How many times have you woken up in the morning and wished it were socially acceptable to go out in public in your pajamas? Unfortunately, that’s isn’t really possible. However, with the new trend of slip dresses emerging all over the place, we can now buy actual real clothes that are just as comfortable as our pajamas, but a lot more glamorous.

This Fashionista pulled off the trend in a sheer maroon slip dress with delicate beading at the bottom. The full-length cardigan adds a casual feel to the outfit, as well as the cut-off denim shorts that you can just barely see peeking through the dress. Although they aren’t the main aspect, they’re vital to making the outfit completely daytime appropriate and casual. Some cool sandals and a copper wire necklace are simple accessories that let the dress be the main attraction, as well as allowing the beading on the dress to become its own sparkly accessory.

The thin, delicate fabric of this dress immediately makes you feel like Blair Waldorf, waltzing around her Upper East Side penthouse, eating croissants and sipping cappuccinos off of a silver platter while watching Breakfast At Tiffany’s with Serena. Basically, it makes you feel pretty fancy. Browsing around different stores, you often see this trend paired with simple items, just like in this outfit. It blends together two very different styles to create something extremely unique, as well as an outfit that could easily be ready for a night out with a pair of killer heels and a cool clutch.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “This dress is super versatile; I love to wear it like this during the day, but I have a pair of black strappy heels that I’ve thrown on for dinner or a date with my boyfriend. Either way, I want one in every color!”
