I can’t count the number of times I’ve been asked if I’m having a “bad hair day” just because I’m wearing something on my head like a floppy hat, chunky headband or a baseball cap. While most of the time the answer is yes, I am disapproving of the notion that I can’t accessorize my head just like I would anything else. Nevertheless, that’s exactly what this Fashionista did and it totally completed her outfit. (See? It’s possible, hat haters!)
The color scheme of this Fashionista’s outfit made her look chic while maintaining comfort. She paired a simple, white blouse with black and white checkered trousers for that classic eye-catching appeal. She finished her trendy little get up with a gray, dainty pair of Oxford style shoes. What caught my eye, though, was the emerald green turban that kept her hair nice and neat.
This distinct contrast of color is always a fashion go-to. Whether it be a red lip with a #littleblackdress or a neon heel with an otherwise drab pant suit or tea-length skirt, you can never go wrong with a pop of your favorite color. What makes this accessory stand out is the rich color of green going against the black and white concept of this Fashionista’s outfit. I am usually not a fan of green and black together, but the turban headscarf adds just enough to the outfit without clashing against the neutrals.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I love basic colors, so adding some sort of distinct piece of clothing or accessory is something I do all the time. I think it really makes people take a second look at what I’m wearing that day and appreciate it more.”
