When it comes to fall fashion for women, it’s all about styling and completing your outfit with trendy outwear. It’s not about the colors; in fact, the colors are very neutral and deep during this time of the year anyways. It’s about having that finishing touch that makes your look unstoppable and something every Fashionista wants to wear.
As all of you fashion gurus already know, the urban look is here to stay; hence, why many designers are offering styles with contrasting details and an urban-grunge approach. With that in mind, it seems as though parkas are a trend in the industry right now and are taking over this fall and winter. The urban parka is a piece that you cannot choose to miss out on because it’s perfect for the weather, stylish and a staple that can complete your look. With the urban parka on the streets, you will see versatile outfits that layer sweaters, leather pieces and denim, which allow a look to work for day or night. I know it’s only the beginning of fall, but it’s better to get ahead of the fashion world and start filling your closets up with some trendy parkas that will put all eyes on you. Parkas can be mixed with classic adidas, combat boots, a wedged heel or even the classic sandal on a warmer day. It’s an ideal staple because what’s tomorrow is the new today and it’s better to look unstoppable and on top of things than a little late or behind.
This Fashionsta wore her urban parka on a warmer fall day, hence her choice of rolled up denim and her white sandals. The striped shirt really contrasts her navy parka, allowing the pattern to pop with her outfit. Her unzipped, navy parka takes on a more casual look that can be pulled off on campus or at work, giving her full comfort and the ability to dodge the “promising” weather. (It actually did begin to rain heavy right after these photographs were shot).
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “When it comes to this outfit, it’s all about choosing the parka first and working around that.  When I am choosing to go out for the night, I will choose a parka that gives a more grunge feel.  To really [make the look pop], I’ll throw on a pair of black leather denim and throw on a pair of adidas shoes. It’s all about complementing your outfit to the streets you walk on.”
