After months of depressing weather, the sun is finally out. So, stow away the monochromes and bring out the colors to celebrate! This lovely Fashionista is setting a prime example, by basking in blue.
Sometimes, donning the same colors from head to toe can seem overwhelming. However, this Fashionista was able to balance out her blues, by keeping them simple. She threw on a basic pair of high-waisted jeans from UNIQLO. It is a classic staple but the extra wide pockets give the blue bottoms an extra flare. On top, she wore a casual Forever 21 cardigan. Since, her blue articles of clothing are on the plain side, it allows her other pieces to stand out such as her striped crop top underneath. It easily caught my attention amidst her basic blues. My favorite part about the shirt is the ribbed texture. It adds a modern touch, because ribbed fabric is all the rave right now. Also, I adore the mock neck, which thankfully made a return after its first appearance during the late ’80s and early ’90s.
The Fashionista polished her look off with a cute pair of slip-on oxfords. Like her cropped top, her shoes were able to stand out from the sea of blue. All in all, she found the perfect pieces to complement each other.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I love crop tops, but I don’t like to bare my midriff, so my solution is to pair them with pants that are high-waisted. It allows me to feel confident in my cropped top while staying fashionable.”
