STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Winter's Very Own

With weather plummeting into the single digits in Happy Valley, many begin to lose the desire to dress up and look presentable for class. Leaving your apartment or dorm starts to become the biggest struggle of the day. In reality, it is much easier to look effortlessly chic than we may think! Dressing for the colder temperatures might even be easier than dressing up for a warm spring day.

A big, comfy coat is a must this season, especially when the frigid weather can make your face freeze while you wonder if summer will ever return. This Fashionista keeps warm and keeps it simple. Joggers and a sweater are the perfect pairing for a trendy look that can be easily achieved on those mornings where you would rather be cuddling up in blankets than bracing the cold air. To dress up the look, this Fashionista added turquoise rings and a statement necklace. Jewelry is a personal favorite of mine and another easy way to elevate a simple look to something very eye-catching and chic. To finish the look, she added New Balance trainers with a pop of color. These kicks are perfect for walking through our huge Penn State campus.

The main priority during winter at Penn State is to keep warm; however, you don’t have to sacrifice fashion in order to do so! Creating a look that is stylish and comfy is not as difficult as it seems. Stock up on cute, chunky sweaters and coats and get ready to take on the winter!
