If you’re on the East Coast like me, you may have been stepping outside in a full parka and boots combination only to feel that it’s 60 degrees outside. That’s right, everyone: global warming is not a myth. On those few sporadic days that Mother Nature grants us with jacket-less weather, we have to embrace it, right? So, don’t be so quick to put away your spring favorites just yet.
A continuous winter trend that I’ve seen throughout the years are maroon sateen pants. For those of you who have never tried on sateen pants: you’re missing out. Think a perfect mix of a denim jean and leggings—overall just super comfortable and senioritis-proof. Today’s Fashionista is trend-forward and sporting one of my favorite pairs by J Brand. For a top, a simple white T-shirt goes a long way for her, especially paired with an amazing pendent necklace.
Okay, so maybe this warmer winter weather isn’t spring weather, so we can’t forget some form of a coverup. To finish her look, this Fashionista threw on a thick taupe cardigan. As I always say, and coincidentally this Fashionista as well: simplicity always wins. For shoes, she worn a pair of black booties, which we can all agree are the perfect winter staple. If you’re afraid to wear heels to class, look no further than these booties. They’re the perfect leeway into the leveraged world.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I’m all about simplicity. Whether it’s in my jewelry, my denim, hairstyle of the day…really anything! Therefore, at the beginning of the semester, the simpler the better—especially for those extra five minutes of sleep. Definitely invest in a basic white T-shirt and you can wear it with just about anything.”
