STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: You Know I'm All About That Layer

Are you having trouble choosing out your outfits with the weather constantly changing? The spring is always a time that I personally struggle with while deciding on what clothes to put on. I want to style something that will be appropriate for the weather throughout the day but will still look put together if some of the layers are shed. Another annoying aspect of this time of year is that some days it feels like summer and other days it feel like fall. That means that most of your summer clothes are ready for wear and your sweaters have not been packed away yet, leaving your options open.

Since the weather is constantly changing during the spring in New England, it’s hard to pick out what to wear each day. In the morning, the temperature may seem cool which makes you pull on a sweater. But before you decide on just a sweater, make sure you have a light T-shirt or tank top on underneath for when the temperature warms up come afternoon. The changing temperatures make it essential to layer every outfit, which is just what this Fashionista did.

Taylor, featured in the photos, decided to pull on a lightweight purple cardigan that falls to her knees in order to combat the cooler morning temperature. Under the cardigan she wore a black cropped tank top with high-waisted drawstring denim pants. Without the cardigan she still has a complete outfit, but the cardigan helps to pull together the whole outfit and draws attention to her. Her feet were adorned with classic white Converse making the outfit casual and comfortable. To accessorize she had on a gold locket, starfish earrings and sunglasses along with a tan purse. Her whole look was stylish and comfortable for warm or cool weather.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Be casual but cute. My go-to ‘casual but cute’ look has a boho hipster feel to it. Try a few staple pieces in your wardrobe and mix it up with accessories and layers. In my outfit today, the cardigan and necklace give my whole outfit a more polished feel, but still keeps it casual.”
