Living in one of the closest states to the equator means a rather warm fall and a slightly cooler winter. Though northern states can only dream of weather like ours, we Floridians can only dream of weather like theirs. Fortunately, Gainesville experienced its first taste of fall this week as temperatures dropped to a grand low of 59 degrees. Naturally, I decided to jump at the opportunity to flaunt my fall favorites before Florida’s bipolar weather had a change of heart.
I went about my morning with a hot coffee in hand, and boots on my feet. The crisp breeze and frizz-free hair became a foreign feeling. Just as I thought I was settling into the fall season, the temperature had found its way back up to the high 80s by noon. Maybe I’m to blame for not checking the full forecast for the day, or maybe Florida is to blame for its habitual bipolar weather. Regardless, dressing for fall becomes a strenuous task in the Sunshine State. So, until Florida can decide whether it actually wants to transition seasons yet, we Floridians will accept the challenge and learn to play along.
This Fashionista perfectly integrates the two seasons into one outfit. The combats and warm, dark colors scream fall, while the shorts and bohemian crop call for summer. To conclude the look, she accessorized with a gold-studded cross-body and a simple chain headband.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Don’t let the weather discourage you from wearing what you want! There’s so many ways you can show off your fall style, while still beating the midday heat.”
