There reaches a point in Minnesota winters where my style plateaus. I find myself reaching for the same knee-high boots, the same skinny jeans, and my all-time favorite chunky knit sweater.
But, this Fashionista has got me rethinking my go-to essentials. I honestly cannot remember the last time I wore a dress or skirt. Those 8 a.m. classes usually do not equal a dress, especially not one as cute as this rose-printed frock with lace detailing. She chose a shoe with a minimal heel in order to keep it her look both casual and comfy. Instead of grabbing my knee-high boots, I am going to try donning lace-up booties with frilly socks for a bit of girly detail which adds balance to the toughness of the boots.
This Fashionista choose a ring showcasing her love of theatre and a few bracelets, including a chakra bead bracelet. Chakras, according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, are “the centers of spiritual power in the human body, usually considered to be seven in number.” The word “Chakra” means wheel, or circle in Sanskrit. These seven chakras run from top of the head (crown chakra) to the ankle (root chakra). Chakra beads are used to center energy to the chakra. This Fashionista chose a rose quartz bracelet that centers the heart chakra and “offers love and oneness for all” according to Crystal-Life.
For the rest of this Minnesota winter, I am inspired to dress down my absolute favorite frocks and perhaps invest in some crystallized and transcendental jewelry.
