On Feb. 9, one of the biggest snow storms in years hit New York City. For this Fashionista, this meant no classes today at FIT. So, when there’s snow falling off the trees, slush in the streets, and a whole day to play in the winter wonderland that is Manhattan, what do you wear? This Fashionista has some tips to stay cute, comfortable, and most importantly, warm this winter.
This Fashionista was running errands around the city while she had the time since her classes were cancelled. She went to Brooklyn Bagel to get her favorite breakfast, a sesame seed bagel, and then to the Buffalo Exchange which is a luxury thrift store that she frequently shops at.
Her coat is a midnight blue peacoat from Urban Outfitters. It has an extra layer inside for warmth. She’s wearing a gray long sleeve sweater and simple black leggings underneath.
Her scarf is reversible which is another great style tip for winter. One side is black-and-white checkered, while the other is a classic plaid. It’s a blanket scarf, so she can wrap it around her entire body to keep the heat in.
Her shoes are Ugg heels and they’re super stylish, yet incredibly warm! They also hold up through the slushy streets of NYC on a winter’s day.
Lastly, her fuzzy pink bag is Steve Madden which she bought from The Buffalo Exchange, her favorite thrift store.
This Fashionista’s style advice for dressing this winter is, “Be colorful with your gloves, hats and scarves. My favorite thing to wear this winter are my bright red gloves, because they add the perfect pop of color to any basic winter outfit.”
