STYLE ADVICE: Spring Has Sprung

Second semester can be a tricky time during college. You come back from winter break all ready to tackle the rest of the school year. When it comes to clothes you find yourself (if you live in the colder Northeast region) trying to simultaneously bear the snow, rain, and somewhat nicer days. This winter was a bit of a weird one, and all of us then went away for spring break and got nice and tan. But as the spring weather is slowly approaching us we find ourselves swapping out the big thrift store sweaters and boots to tank tops, jeans, and slides. I have learned to appreciate the spring weather, as you can still rock your jeans, light jackets, and tank tops while still managing to be comfortable. Spring fashion makes me think of floral prints and fun flowy pants and of course photoshoots with friends. Something about the idea of dressing up, grabbing your camera, and exploring new places sounds like the perfect spring day.

The weather here went from snowy and 18 degrees to sunny and 75 within the span of two days. With this outfit, green ripped lucky jeans were paired with an adorable floral printed tank. Ripped jeans have been a huge trend in the college scene—every girl has to own at least one pair of majorly distressed jeans. Both of these brought together a perfect color combination that I hope to see more as we get further into spring. Bar necklaces have been a trend that have been around for a while now, but I think are here to stay. Espadrilles are the perfect go-to shoe (especially these amazing sequin ones). You can easily slip them on and go right out the door. One of my main style advice tips is always add the perfect pair of sunnies. They help to protect your eyes from the blinding summer sun and they never fail to pull the whole outfit together. Quay glasses are such a fun and reasonable brand—they are affordable, stylish, and they have every style that you’d need to complete your look. Grab your bag, a couple friends, put on a fun outfit, and go enjoy the warm weather because summer is almost here.
