Something that I think every Fashionista/o needs to know is that no matter how many trends come and go, it is so important to stay true to yourself and your personal style. For example, I know that I am not going to go out and buy a pair of platform sneakers because those just simply aren’t my style. However, I have friends that love trying out the boldest trends and can completely pull them off.
The perfect example of staying true personal style is this Fashionista. She will sometimes go out of her comfort zone and buy something a little bit more “out there,” but all in all, she stays true to her preppy and conservative self.
Her favorite stores are Ann Taylor and J.Crew, and she will sometimes dabble in Free People. Regardless, she keeps it pretty neutral and never really strays away from what makes her feel the most confident.
This outfit that she is wearing is totally her—a classic green (her favorite color to wear) wrap dress and her favorite snakeskin flats. She likes wearing the snakeskin flats because they add a bit of an edge but still tie in with her preppy style. She loves carrying this black, quilted, vintage Ann Taylor bag because it “adds a certain elegance to every outfit.”
All in all, this Fashionista does an amazing job at staying true to her personal style, and I think that is a lesson we should all take from her. Don’t be afraid to venture out of your comfort zone, but also don’t be afraid to come back to what makes you feel the best.
