It is very clear that ’90s fashion has been back for a while and I think we’re all wondering why it ever left. When I think of the ’90s, I think cool grunge, with a bit of attitude. From oversize denim to flannel and chokers, the ’90s are back.
None of us can deny that we’re all sticking to these trends on a regular basis. Brands like Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger are releasing new lines very similar to what they were showing about two decades ago. Even though most of us were born during this decade, we’ve all seen pictures–and we’re hoping mom still has those denim Levi “mom jeans” she was always wearing!
This Fashionista is pulling off multiple looks from the ‘90s–head to toe. She paired high-waisted flare pants in a deep green color, which is one of my favorite colors for winter, with a simple black turtleneck. You can never go wrong with a turtleneck, they are so flattering!
My favorite part of the outfit was her vintage oversize denim jacket, clearly a staple piece from this era. The Tommy Hilfiger patch on the back instantly brings you back to this decade as it was everywhere back then. Items with brand logos are resurfacing today and on trend again, but I love the fact that she got this from a thrift store, so it’s an original from the ’90s! Make your jacket unique by adding your own personal pins and patches! She layered multiple gold necklaces and added statement earrings for jewelry and wore a black leather belt, which is always a necessity. This was the perfect first day of school outfit, as she told me, and I definitely agree.
