As many may know, there has been a rule in the fashion game that says no white after Labor Day. Now, some may look at you weirdly when seeing your white article of clothing smack dab in the winter, while others will respect your slay regardless of the rule. This Fashionista right here? She’s shown how to respectfully break the rules and bring back winter white. While seeing her walking across campus, I just had to stop her for a picture.
I’ve used this Fashionista as my muse to demonstrate how not to be afraid of being bright in the winter, beautiful colors aren’t just for the summer. So, if your favorite article of clothing is white, then I dare you to pull it from the back of your closet this season. Don’t be afraid to break the rules, make it your own and follow these three important tips when doing so. When going against the grain, I want you to hold your head high, push your shoulders back, and do your favorite runway walk…you know? Like a boss!
Also, if you’re too afraid of wearing all-white, follow this Fashionista and pair your winter white garment with more subtle colors, but I don’t recommend all-black with a white coat. She has on a long wool trench coat (white), black leggings, olive green thigh-high boots, black handbag, black, white and orange pattern shirt, and silver ring set. Notice how she wore black with her white coat, but used other colors to brighten up her fit and tie it all together. This is exactly how I’d challenge you Fashionistas to wear your winter white! Make it playful, incorporate your most flattering color (pink, red, orange, or blue) and a pair of jeans or leggings to tone the outfit down for a more everyday look. I hope this article will inspire you to not care about rules, and who cares if you break them? Just slay while you do!
