Well hello there lovelies and welcome to my STYLE GURU BIO! This is my first season as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and I and both eager and excited! I am so honored to be a part of such an amazing company and I cannot wait to see how I evolve with it over the course of the internship.
Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Ashlin Crawley and I am currently attending the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, pursuing a degree in Merchandise Marketing. I absolutely adore the art and creativity of fashion, as well as, the business side of the industry. Fashion has been such a prevalent part of my life and I find inspiration through the past, present and future of everyday life and art.
Growing up, my idea of fashion was hand-me-downs or anything that I could get away with rolling in the mud in. Nowadays, well, you could say that my tomboy ways still show through, with just a little bit of vintage flair. I live for vintage or thrifted clothing, as I believe that clothing has a personality, which is felt through clothing that had a previous life.
I believe that choice of clothing is an individual representation of one’s soul on the outside.
You can often find me in quirky T-shirts, a pair of high-waisted anything and some sneakers. I live for comfort but don’t let that fool you; cute can always be comfy. I’d like to say that I have a very androgynous style. Since moving to Los Angeles, I’ve adopted a closet full of denim and black clothing. Aside from clothing, I enjoy listening to classic rock, going to flea markets and taking pictures for my food Instagram.
