A big, warm hello goes out to all my other Fashionista/os! My name is Abbey Hagan, and I am a sophomore at the University of Alabama.
Fashion was and always will be my first love. I have loved flipping through magazines, sketching on anything and everything, and putting on as much jewelry as possible since I can remember. I’ve always wanted to be in fashion, hence why choosing to be a fashion retail major in college was a no-brainer for me. I am so incredibly excited to be interning as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista this semester, and I hope that you guys like reading my articles as much as I enjoy writing them.
A few things that you should know about my style: it is pretty rare that I wear anything with color, I would rather splurge on one nice thing than have a bunch of not-as-nice items, and I am constantly looking to expand my closet with pieces that I am really passionate about. I like to keep things simple but effective. I like to describe my style that way because I don’t want to overdo my outfit, but I always want it to be something people remember.
I get a lot of my inspiration from various fashion blogs and from people I see on the street. I always think that getting inspiration from other people can translate into something really magical.
This look here is pretty standard for me: black ripped jeans, a simple sweater, a cute pair of booties, and some killer accessories. I love the way the ripped jeans create a grungy contrast with a simple cream sweater, and how the booties tie in the entire look by adding a whole new color to the palette. This choker has become a recent staple for me, as chokers are a great way to instantly become trendy. Adding a classic black cross-body also adds a nice bit of flare to the outfit. I love incorporating less expensive things with more high-end things because I think the two can really tie an entire look together.
I am so excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista this semester, as I will get to combine my love of writing, photography, and fashion! I hope that this semester is filled with great adventures and amazing outfits to go along with them.
