Hello everybody and welcome to another fabulous semester on the CollegeFashionista! I am so unbelievably happy to have the opportunity to share my love of clothes with you all again. I am having an absolute ball writing my articles and finding lots of Fashionistas around campus who know how to dress to impress.  To me, clothes convey how I feel. If I am having a rough day with minimal sleep, you would probably find me in leggings and a big sweater. If I am feeling super awesome one day and want everyone to know it, I will slip on something that makes me feel super happy and smiley, like my favorite pair of jeans and a pretty top. I know when I walk around Miami’s beautiful campus, I take note of some of the awesome outfits I see, and usually, the girls who are rocking them are confident and overall just so inspiring!
My love of fashion developed at a young age. The greatest thrill in my life as a little girl was dressing up my Barbie and Bratz dolls and laying them out to admire my handiwork. I quickly noticed if something could use a little extra pizazz. My favorite part was showing my mom all my newly styled dolls and giving her a little runway show. Ever since then, styling clothes has been a passion of mine.
My style is fairly simple—I have a lot of jeans and plain T-shirts. I know what I like and what I do not like, and I know what fits me the best. It took a while to figure out what makes me feel best, but that just makes it all the more special. I am also a little bit of a shoe junkie. Something about a really amazing pair of shoes makes you feel so incredible. These over-the-knee boots are my absolute obsession right now. I never thought I could pull them off (being 5’4 and all), but actually got super lucky with this pair that hits me right above the knee. They also have a little tie in the back so they won’t slip. Talk about a good find! My suede miniskirt is from Free People and is basically one of my top five essentials. I wear it constantly! I kept it simple on top with a black turtleneck. For the grand finale, I have this awesome (faux) white leather coat (similar!) and vintage clutch that make me feel a little like Coco Chanel. Like I said before, I am all about keeping it simple and adding a little something-something to really bring in the WOW factor. The combination of the layered pearl necklaces with the white leather makes me feel like I am on the Upper East Side in NYC, not Southeast Michigan.
Once again, I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to write for you all again this semester, and I look forward to meeting some amazing #Fashionistas around campus!
