Hello Fashionistas! My name is Abby. I am senior at the University of Colorado at Boulder, studying humanities and communications. I love sewing and creating my own fashion pieces, both from scratch and recycled clothing. When I was little, my grandma used to make my dolls and I matching outfits. I too wanted to create anything I wanted in whatever fabric I liked. I learned how to sew with guidance from my mom and grandma, and soon started creating pieces for my barbies. Since then, I have successfully designed and created unique pieces that are one-of-a-kind for photo shoots, friends, and myself.
I believe that the best fashion is what makes a person feel the most comfortable and excited. I don’t think fashion needs to be expensive or designer to be in-style. Some of the best looks I have ever made have been pulled from thrift stores, vintage markets, and swap meets alike! I am a firm believer in individuality; when you find a look or piece that makes you feel on top of the world, there’s no stopping you! I am also a sucker for the classics. Anything a little retro or American Apparel-esque. Simplicity is beautiful.
In this look here, I combined a white button-up top with an amazing camel-tone jacket. Black skinny jeans and statement socks pull the look together, topped off with a pair of maroon patent leather loafers by Madewell. The socks are actually turned inside out to add some eye-grabbing texture to my outfit. I’m also sporting my favorite bracelet, which you’ll see in all my posts, as I wear it everyday. Extra plus: my jacket and top were thrifted for under $5 together.
I hope you love this look! Follow me on Instagram to keep up with my posts and fashion advice!
