Hello Fashionistas and Fashionistos of the world! My name is Abigail Bizzarro and I am going to be a sophomore at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. I am double majoring in Marketing and Communications, and this is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista! I am super ecstatic to shine a light as a Style Guru on some of the Fashionistas/os that walk the streets of Philly this semester.
A little about myself: I am fluent in both consuming food and buying shoes. Along with being obsessed with tea, sushi and reading every romance novel I can get my hands on (yes, that includes “Fifty Shades of Grey”), I love exercising and watching funny videos of animals on YouTube at 2:00 a.m. I am also an avid thrift shopper! I get an amazing high from treasure hunting for hours for that one amazing and unique piece, and when you find it, you feel like you are on top of the world!
My style has definitely evolved throughout the years, for if it hadn’t, I would still be wearing mismatched patterns and blazers that are way too big for me. I was the girl who wore the weird outfits in school, the one people gave weird looks thinking, “what is she wearing?” I look back now and wonder what was going through my head, but it was all a learning process and a way to express myself. It was those times wearing the mismatched patterns and experimenting with different things that I was able to learn about my personal style. I was looking for a way to express myself and by doing that, I found my own style.
Nowadays, my style is minimalist and filled to the brim with neutral colors, especially white. I look for pieces that I can wear casually or dress up, as well as pieces that I am able to wear with many different outfits. My go-to outfit during the spring is a T-shirt or shift dress, flats and depending on the weather, a light cardigan. Being comfortable is key for me, especially with sitting in class every day for what seems like hours on end.
This semester I look forward to sharing this journey with all of you! I am excited to experience new things and really step outside of my comfort zone. I’m eager to follow the new trends and see what all you Fashionistas/os are wearing!
