Hi, my name is Alana Isbell and I’m returning for my second semester as a Style Guru! I had so much fun keeping High Point University up-to-date with all things fashion related. I am a sophomore studying Visual Merchandising Design and one day, I hope to be working for a clothing company in New York City.
This year, in North Carolina, fall and winter decided to combine into one season. One day it’s warm enough to wear jeans and a T-shirt and the next day you need a coat, gloves and scarf! For days like these, I like to wear my favorite ripped jeans and a simple black shirt paired with a heavy burgundy sweater to keep out Old Man Winter! My winter wardrobe mostly consists of dark colors that I like to pair with trendy statement pieces. Dark colors are easy to match with anything and adding a statement piece can turn an old outfit into something new. I chose to wear chunky black boots to add some edge to the look. I like to stay on the edgier side of fashion, so anything black is perfect! I have a major shoe addiction and I love to show them off. My mom taught me to bargain shop, so I’m always looking for the best deal. The less you spend the more you can buy! I like to spend my time exploring Charlotte and drinking way more coffee than I should. What better way to spend break than hanging out time with family and finding new style inspiration? Whether I’m school going to class or holiday shopping, I love to make a fashion statement.
I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about me. During the semester you’ll get to see some of the most fashionable students on campus. I can’t wait to continue keeping you up-to-date on all things fashion here at High Point University.
