Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is Alejandra Fishman and I am a junior fashion merchandising student at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. When I’m not in the frozen tundra that is Kent I enjoy living in the sun filled tropics of Puerto Rico in the Caribbean.
In Kent I am an active member within my sorority Chi Omega and Hillel the Jewish Student Center on campus. This is my first semester with CollegeFashionista and I look forward to bringing all of you the lively and colorful styles of the Puerto Rican Fashionistas I see on the daily around the island.
As a fashion merchandising student I am looking forward to dive deeper into my love of activewear and outdoor lifestyles such as skiing, surfing and snowboarding. I hope this love for sportswear takes me in the future to new places around the United States and hopefully Europe as traveling is one of my biggest loves.
My style varies daily as I tend not to limit myself on one style or trend and I enjoy trying new things constantly. Although living on a tropical island does get hot, it allows me to push myself to not just rely on some jean shorts and a T-shirt. I try to always put my best foot forward each day with my style and outfits. This past year I’ve begun testing the waters with prints on my shorts as prints are something that tends to scare me so I enjoy them in small doses. My go-to always for printed shorts is usually Old Navy, I always tend to find great styles with them. If you’re unsure about a trend I’d say start with small doses, as I did with prints and you might come to realize it’s something you love.
I can’t wait to see what this semester holds for me and CollegeFashionista along with my other Style Gurus from Kent and across the world.
