Hello, Fashionistas! I am Alexa Caccamo and welcome to my STYLE GURU BIO! Here you will find out everything there is to know about me and my love for my fashion and blogging, and why I decided to become a Style Guru.
Before I get into the fun stuff, I would like to give you all a little insight into my life. I live in Clinton Township, MI with my parents and two sisters. My hobbies include reading (preferably American literature and historical fiction), writing, going on runs, playing tennis, and going out to brunch with my friends. My favorite things are coffee, pink bow emojis, red lipstick, and Chanel quotes.
Now that you learned a few details about me, it’s time to get into the good stuff.
I’ve loved fashion ever since I was a kid. Two of my biggest inspirations are my mom and grandma because they never fail to look to fabulous and have always taught to dress to impress.
Discovering my love for fashion led me to think about career options when I was 10 years old. At first, I thought about being a fashion designer and having my own clothing line, but then I decided that I wanted to be a retail buyer for a department store like Nordstrom (starting a clothing line is still my dream). I took a couple of business classes at my high school and even joined Nordstrom’s BP. Fashion Board to learn more about the company’s corporate ladder, but that all changed when I joined my high school’s newspaper, The Tomahawk, in my senior year.
Writing has always been a passion of mine since elementary school, and I always achieved excellent grades in my English classes. Being able to use my creativity and imagination to produce content for everyone to see is the number one reason why I joined The Tomahawk. For my first article I had to pick a student who had a unique sense of style, and after being published I received positive feedback from not only from my editor-in-chief and adviser, but from my classmates as well. That day made me realize I was meant to be a fashion journalist.
The Tomahawk aspired me to do two things to grow my skills in writing: start my style blog (Pink & Happy), and become an intern for a blog, and I couldn’t be happier to say that I am Style Guru for CollegeFashionista.
I am currently studying journalism at Oakland University and I hope that my degree will land me a job in the fashion journalism world someday.
