Ciao amici! My name is Alexa and I am a rising sophomore at Marist College studying business and fashion. This is my first time interning as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista, and I am very eager and thrilled to continue building a fashion community.
My sense of style perhaps stems from living in Manhattan. Born and raised in one of the greatest cities in the world, I am grateful to say that I have been exposed to a countless number of unique individuals who roam the streets everyday. Ever since I was in middle school I have been aware of how fashion-forward everyone here is, and I am confident that it is a leading factor of what makes this city exciting.
What I have learned is that people in Manhattan feel very comfortable in expressing who they are through the clothes they wear. This is what has influenced me with my personal style. Everybody around me is inspiring. They have motivated me into becoming open-minded when it comes to not only fashion, but anything in life. Whether I am dining at a new restaurant or shopping at an unfamiliar store, I always encourage myself to try something new.
I do not define myself by following a particular trend because I merely purchase clothes that flatter me. Many articles in my closet follow a contemporary and chic style. I believe in wearing simple, yet unique, apparel. My number one rule is to dress up my outfits with jewelry, especially by stacking rings and layering necklaces. I mostly wear jewelry I design and handcraft. Follow @onetwistco to see what I am up to.
