Hello, fellow trendsetters!!
My name is Alexa Rae Eddy. But you can call me Rae-Rae, Lexi, or Lex. As of now, I am double majoring in Communication Studies and Journalism-Public Relations. I love telling people’s stories, staying connected to the world around me and fully immersing myself in everything I do. I want to live in a world full of innovative sustainable fashion businesses, coffee shops, books that come bundled with dark chocolate and a force field around my keyboard that repels everything other than the people I love and opportunities to blog about fashion, global health, food, travel and the environment.
For over three years, I have been an Event & Program Assistant at a nonprofit company. I love to help people and make regular contributions to my community. This job has given me the opportunity to wear my favorite clothing styles, write online newsletters/blogs, and meet some of the most selfless, generous people I have ever met. It truly doesn’t get any better than witnessing grantees get emotional about the great things that are happening due to philanthropic gifts and being able to express my personality through my favorite fashion trends in a business setting.
Being a Pacific Northwest girl, you can find me strolling the streets of Bellingham, WA or Portland, OR. Given my background, it is no surprise that I will be rocking an outfit with a Boho or Hipster vibe. I swoon toward layers (probably an excessive amount), scarves, long socks, statement necklaces and neutral colors. Throughout my life, friends have branded me with the nickname, “Nike.” If I am not wearing a boho-inspired outfit, it is no coincidence that I will be seen in one of Oregon’s most prestigious activewear fashion icons—Nike. I try to stay stylish yet practical.
When I’m not writing or planning events to honor donors philanthropic efforts, you can find me sipping on a coffee with a good book near by, shopping at a Free People store, hiking with friends, daydreaming about my next travel destination or re-reading the same sentence of my textbooks for school thinking “what did I just read” for the eleven-billionth time.
I hope to combine my love for the outdoors and my love for fashion so they can potentially have a harmonious relationship, rather than a disastrous one. I know all my fashionistas/os will agree that sustainable fashion is not the most “fashionable” clothing option, but I truly think that it can be someday.
I would not be where I am today without the creativity outlet that fashion provides. I cannot wait to be a Style Guru for what I am most passionate about with people who are just as passionate as I am!
I will be traveling around Europe this summer and I look forward to showing you different fashion trends from campuses abroad.
In the meantime, make sure to work hard, have fun, stay positive and be nice to people (even the jerks!).
