Hi Fashionistas! My name is Alexa Kouvaris and I am a third year student at Northeastern University. I am currently pursuing a degree in communication studies with a minor in business administration and will be spending my spring semester interning and studying in New York City. I am beyond excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista this spring!
I spent my childhood trying to find the best way to channel my creativity.  I learned that fashion was the best way to do so, when I found that planning my outfits was the most exciting part of every day. From there I became the girl in high school who refused to every repeat an outfit, but that changed drastically after living on the college student budget! Since then, I have become more creative in making the most of my wardrobe.
I began working at a small accessories boutique in high school and from there I became eager to learn more about the industry. In addition, I had the opportunity to intern with a local Worth New York stylist. From my experiences at the boutique and Worth New York I not only learned that the fashion industry was perfect for me, but also that accessories are my favorite part of my wardrobe. My newfound love for accessorizing led me to create and design my own jewelry business called Stranded by Lex.
My style has gained a ton of variety since I began going back and forth from Boston to my small preppy hometown in Connecticut. I always lean toward the neutrals, but love to add a little bit of personality through accessorizing. In this look I paired a simple black turtleneck with a faux shearling vest from TOBI and accessorized with my favorite White Moth caged ring!
Style can say so much about a person and that is what I love most about it. I look forward to sharing my favorite looks and trends in New York City and Boston this spring with my fellow Fashionistas!
