Hey there, Fashionistas/os! I could not be more excited to begin my journey as a fashion dreamer, like many of you, aboard the CollegeFashionista team! I am currently a junior at the amazing University of Alabama, majoring in Journalism along with a second major in Fashion Retail and a minor in Consumer Sciences and Financial Planning. I never really knew what I wanted to do with my life due to my many passions, but I always had a knack for fashion and knew I had to do something with it. I try and go for unique looks and put together styles I love.
When I was young, my family knew fashion was for me because of my sassy and unique style in those sparkly dresses and stilettos. I was and still am known for dressing up everywhere I go, no matter if it was in high school or now in college—everyone knew me for dressing up. Styling is a huge passion of mine. Someone could walk down the street and I can immediately tell what would look good on them. I will even stay at home all day and try on new outfits and see what works and is unique. My favorite season and type of clothing would be winter styles. There is just something about boots and sweaters that gets me every time. I love reading magazines such as Vogue, Seventeen, ELLE Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Vanity Fair, Glamour and Marie Claire, especially to catch up on the latest fashion happenings! I wasn’t sure if going to a school not primarily focused on fashion would get me anywhere, but if anything, it has helped me realize that fashion and writing is my dream. I hope to become a fashion journalist of any kind, and it’s all super exciting knowing that my dreams are coming true with my passion for fashion!
No matter what it is I am doing—reading blogs, watching E! or reading magazines, I always try to keep with the new styles and trends. I am a huge online shopper, and I think being away at my amazing school has made me an online shopping enthusiast. I love finding new trends this way. I am in love with Nordstrom and every designer it carries, including Free People, Parker, Tory Burch, VINCE and Topshop are among the few. Having beautiful weather in Alabama truly makes life more bearable with the choices and styles of clothing. My go-to essentials at school include flowy dresses, wedges and flashy jewelry. These key items in my closet go with everything and work for every occasion.
There is so much that happens in college, and I am so excited to share all that I find throughout this summer with all my fellow fashion lovers! Catch my posts and articles every Tuesday, as I share the latest fashion advice and trends and discover all the unique and amazing Fashionistas/os out there!
